what we did:
  1. Branding

  2. Graphic Design

  3. Stationery

THE PROBLEM

Marenghi Consultancy is a start up tech and IT consultancy, started by an industry veteran, which gave us the interesting challenge of how to convey 25 years of IT industry experience in a clean professional logo? The client was new to running his own brand, but eager to develop something that represented him and after a few consultations with us, we managed to boil the core of the brand down to 3 core elements: simple, personable expertise (also that he wanted it to be blue).

A white mug with blue rim and handle, with the Marenghi Consultancy Logo, on a light blue background.
A laptop and book with marenghi consultancy branding, and the text “Brand Guidelines” next to a tablet with marenghi consultancy brand guidelines, including the brands logos, text colours and symbols.
A Marenghi consultancy branded stationary set, including the front and back of 2 envelopes, and the front and back of business cards, and a pen.

THE SOLUTION

We Toyed with a lot of visual metaphors and imagery related to IT, but in the end we came back to the brand's core of simplicity and expertise. The double slash in coding is most often used to leave a comment in the code, a note for the developer. As a consultant, a big part of the job is reviewing what a company already has in place, in this way the double slash felt like the perfect visual symbol to represent the brand. The slashes also served as a motif to utilise throughout the brand. The colour blue was a must for the client, so a spectrum of blue shades was developed to create a brand gradient.
